Privacy policy
Last updated: September 2026
Dr.PDF is designed with privacy as a foundational principle. This policy explains what happens - and what does not happen - when you use our service.
PDF and image tools (browser processing)
Most tools - merge, split, compress, sign, protect, OCR, and the majority of edit operations - run entirely in your web browser. Your files stay in browser memory on your device. We do not receive, store, or access those files on our servers.
Office conversions (temporary server processing)
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint conversions may upload your document to our server for processing with LibreOffice when that engine is available. Files are processed in memory, not stored in a database or cloud drive, and are discarded immediately after conversion. If LibreOffice is unavailable, the same tools may fall back to lower-fidelity browser conversion without uploading your file.
Personal information
Dr.PDF does not require account registration. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information through the application itself. If you contact us by email, we use your message only to respond.
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use essential cookies for app functionality and, if enabled, privacy-respecting analytics. If advertising (such as Google AdSense) is enabled in the future, ad partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads. See our Cookie policy for details and your choices.
Analytics
When enabled, we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage (page views, tool popularity) without tracking individual users or document content.
Advertising
Dr.PDF may display advertisements in the future to support free access. If enabled, Google AdSense or similar services may collect device and usage data according to their policies. We will update this policy before turning on ads. Personalized ads can be managed through Google Ads Settings.
Third-party services
- Translate PDF sends extracted text snippets (with your consent) to a third-party translation API. PDF files are not transmitted.
- OCR PDF downloads language models from a public CDN. Recognition runs locally; document content is not uploaded.
- Office conversions use LibreOffice on our infrastructure when available (see above).
Children
Dr.PDF is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
